The Alps to Ardeche cycle ride is under way!!
105 km under the belt and we’ve sellted into our lovely apaprtment in fond de France. Jamie has served up a top-notch curry and everybody is feeling suitable well fed and pretty tired from the day’s riding.
We set off at 10am from Courchvel le Praz with a few day trippers in tow in glorious sunshine – see the pic below of us still looking fresh!
Ominously, we had an inner tube explode before we had even hit the start line the but couldn’t have asked for a better day in terms of weather. Blue skies, lots of sun but not too hot.
But it was not all cruising. Adam was the first to be unseated by some roadworks and Jim and Ali fell foul of some careless parking to hit the tarmac a short while later. Fortunately there were no serious injuries and a few antiseptic swabs later we were back on the road.
Everybody has made a cracking start to the trip and, in spite of feeling a little sore we can’t wait to get under way again tomorrow for another 104km up to Rancurel, 100om up in the Vercours national park.
